From the Earth he crawled...
The answer would be yes. Fuck. Yes.

If you're wondering who the heck I'm talking about, that would be one of the guitarists on Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and Flames" that seems to make all of you Guitar Hero III nerds cringe and shake with fear.

I got all three albums from a friend of mine and oh snaps and dang do they rock. As some of you may or may not know, I'm a HUGE fan of cheese metal like Stratovarius, Dio, Queensryche, and things of that nature. This is due to their amazing guitar, vocals, and overall sound respectively. Dragonforce has all of this, and a bucket of wings.

I don't think I has a point to this entry other than to plug this band.

Uh...

Oh, I'll be going to a special driving course in January. You know all the crazy secret agen type driving you see in spy movies? That's what I'll be doing.

From the Earth he crawled...
The VTech shooting came as a shock. It's sad that those days aren't behind us. You'd think that we had enough trouble with other countries wanting to kill us, that people on the homefront would realize we need to unite as a nation. My heart goes out to them.

On a lighter note, since I have a little time to make a real post, I have returned from North Carolina. As I had said before, I enjoyed being around Marines, and it was a refreshing experience for me. But now I'm back, and just in tiime for the New London High School JROTC to come to our base. One of my favorite tiimes of the year, because I get to be their tormentor for three days, along with a handful of other Marines. We made three girls cry, and I made one kid hate being there. It's fun making them test their bodie to the limit, and even more fun coming up with creative ways to do it. for example:

Me: Do we all want to hear a joke, since no one could come up with one of their own? ::Silence from the cadets:: Good. Knock knock.

Cadets: Who's there?

Me: PUSH!!

::Cadets drop to do push-ups, hilarity ensues.::

Good times...gooooooooooooooood tiiiiiiiiimes.

I've been in North Carolina since yesterday afternoon. I had forgotten what it's like to be around Marines all the time. I still don't like Jacksonville, though. This place just kind of whores out the Marine Corps image for profit. I had planned on making a detailed post about this, but the indignant mood has come and gone. Oh well.

Another day, another rank

I got to pin on two more Marines today. They asked for me by name. I can tell it pisses my commanding officer off, because the first time he made me hurry, and this time he actually stepped in so he could pin them on too. Even my Gunnery Sergeant was a little offended. No matter. At least I know I'm seen as a good role model for the Marines around me, and that's all that matters in my heart.

Eat it hard, work week!

The week has already started zooming by. This is good, because it means that my girlfriend will be here sooner. I went to the gym for an hour, went back to my room to change over, and got a call saying that we were secured for the day. No work = win.
Then I went to the arcade and continued the conquest game on Soul Calibur 2. Less than 5 hours of game time, and I rank in 5th in my army as a platinum lieutenant of the harpies with almost 300 wins and something like 36 losses. I really have no life outside of work.

No signs that 2007 is plotting against me. Yet. I'm keeping my eye on you, 2007.

I hope 2007 isn't plotting its evil against any of you fine LJ folk. And anyone in the RI area who wants to give me a challenge in some Soul Calibur, or would like to visit so you can hang, bring it. And if you're a Kilik player, don't be hurt when I male fun of your choice in characters.

It's about damn time

I've been waiting for 2006 to end...well...for about a year. Most of it was pure hell for me, but towards then end things have started to look up. Hopefully 2007 will not suck balls. I had to work on New Years Eve, of all things. At least we took the arcade over for two hours after we closed. I showed a guy I work with just how sucky Kilik players are by whipping up on him with Maxi.

And now we've come to the new year. The time when people make resolutions, about as consistant as a fart, to become better in some way. I never make resolutions, personally, because I always try to improve myself, even if it's in little ways.

But seeing as how everyone is not like me, what are some resolutions that you, my loving and sexified readers, have? I'd like to see what you all are resolving to do or not do this year.
